Young Adults Pilgrimage to the Holy Land (Monday 27th February to Monday 5th March) with Bishop Seamus Cunningham

Our first day – Bishop Seamus leads the group at 5.30am Mass at the altar of Calvary in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre:

After Mass there is a chance to to put one’s hand through a hole beneath the altar of Calvary and touch the stone on which the Cross of Jesus was erected:

Our Lord’s tomb – where he was buried and rose from the dead:

Inside Our Lord’s tomb – beneath this protective slap there are the remains of the original slap on which Our Lord was laid after his death and which he rose from the dead on the third day.

Outside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre:

On the Mount of Olives overlooking Jerusalem:

Gethsemane – the rock where Christ cried out – “Father, let this cup pass by me but not my will but yours be done.”:

Bishop Seamus with our fabulous coach:

A break for lunch:

The Baptism of Jade was of course the highlight of the pilgrimage:

Immediately after baptism Jade is anointed with the holy oil of Chrism:
