In the Sacrament we confess our sins in the presence of the priest who acts in the name of Christ and the Church. Then the priest pronounces: “I absolve you from your sins in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.” After this, the priest assigns you a small devotional or practical task for you to complete as a sign of your repentance.
The world permits everything and forgives nothing. God and the Church do not permit everything but forgive everything.
Cardinal Francis George
In the sacrament of Reconciliation, God’s merciful plan gives us a living encounter with his presence, which is forgiveness and mercy. The Sacrament is celebrated at St Roberts after every Saturday Mass.
